I have been working behind the scenes with Cricut™ for the last six months and it has been an amazing experience! (read more here) I have a few very exciting announcements to make today!
It is a design-and-cut system! The Cricut Explore™ system blends an electronic cutting machine with Cricut Design Space™, the free online design software, to help you make polished DIY projects. Create by using the hundreds of ready-to-make projects, the 50,000+ images from the Cricut® library or by uploading your own images. You can even use the Cricut® cartridges you already own! Read more here.
I have had so much fun using the Cricut Explore™ to easily create adorable party decor! You may have a seen a few projects here and there, like these adorable pink bows and Kate’s “sweet dreams” banner, but I am so thrilled to “officially” share our first party collection with you all today. I love how it turned out! Like most of my designs, it is simple and clean and can work for a variety of celebrations! I used my favorite “tomkat” heart shape through the projects, making it super simple to re-create this party setup with just a few supplies. Keep in mind, you can create my party projects and use any colors you choose! Just buy the colors of cardstock that works for your theme. This theme would be perfect in pinks and red for Valentine’s Day, too!
Cricut Design Space makes it so simple to make these projects! You simply choose a project, gather the list of supplies and hit the magic button, “Make It Now”. Everything is formatted and sized so no need to make any adjustments, just follow the easy instructions and start feeding your paper/mat through the machine!
My projects for this party theme include:
Projects and images range from $.99 to $2.98.
My head is spinning with project ideas for this incredible machine and I can’t wait to share more projects we’ve completed and come up with more great ideas to make life easier! From school projects to home decor (and parties, of course) you can look forward to fresh, new ideas from The TomKat Studio using the Cricut Explore™ machine!

I have been on the fence about purchasing a Cricut for a while now and I think you def just made up my mind for me. This is a brilliant collaboration and will open a whole new demographic for Cricut. Sold.
That is so wonderful to hear, Kimberly! I can’t wait to share more projects we are working on!

Oh – I just love the gold and black designs – so simple but so pretty!!! And that tote is just SOO adorable! I’m loving the new Cricut machine too – it’s so fun!!!!

I LOVE these party projects, Kim! Can’t wait to see with else you create with this incredible cutting machine.
So many fun projects you’ve created, and I love the gold!!
I was wondering which font you used for the “Celebrate” banner. Thanks!
Hello! I used Bebas Neue.
Can these images be used with the expression2? Unaware that the explore was coming out this year, my husband surprised me with the expression 2. But the explore looks awesome. I’m new to making projects and trying to decide what to make but everything seems geared to the explore. Just want to see if it’s compatible. Thanks!!
Quick question… (may sound a bit silly)
Do you ship to Los Angeles?
HI, This is my first time to use Cricut Explore and I am making Invitation Bow Wrap for my sister’s friend Baby Shower in March. I just wondering if you have a video to show how to make it?
Hi Kim! Are users able to make the “celebrate” cake topper?
Other than my kids, this is the most beautiful thing I have seen all day! I love, love, love the gold, black and white!
