I am so excited to the details of the first project I styled for Pottery Barn Kids, a spring baby shower! After previewing drafts of the Spring catalog, I pitched several color schemes/themes for the shoot based on my favorite spreads in the catalog. The yellow and gray polka dot idea was by far my favorite and I was thrilled when this is the one the marketing team chose for the shoot. My designs and styling were inspired by these two new nursery collections and art print.
I can’t begin to tell you what an incredible experience this was. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with such an amazing, creative group of people. The team from Pottery Barn Kids flew out to Phoenix for the week and spent many, many hours at my house. Boxes upon boxes were shipped and unloaded for the shoot. My home office was used as the location for the shower and since I hadn’t decorated it quite yet, drapes were hung, chandeliers were installed, furniture was moved. The TomKat team plus extra helpers were on hand to assist at every moment. The whole time I was looking around thinking “Is this really happening?”…
I styled place settings, a dessert table as well as a gift table for the shoot. We used gorgeous Pottery Barn Emma dinnerware, which came in the perfect colors for the theme. I designed a full printable party collection for the shoot, which is available to download.
I also filmed several tutorial videos during the shoot. This was a completely new experience for me and was not easy! I am happy with how the videos turned out (the magic of editing) and hope you like them too.
If you haven’t explored the Parties & Celebrations section of the Pottery Barn Kids website, you will love it! It is filled with party and shower plans, recipes, crafts and more! You’ll find the full Sunshine Baby Shower feature there along with more from me in the coming months!
A big thank you to the team at Pottery Barn Kids, as well as the TomKat team for making this experience so fabulous! I couldn’t be more excited about this partnership!
