Let’s hear it for the boys! I know I tend toward all things pink and girly, but we can’t forget about the sweet boys. This year, I’m happy to report that we will be making a big effort to expand our party collections for boys. In the meantime, here are our party themes for boys that were most popular in 2011!

We are throwing a Charlie Brown themed party for our little one this year!

  3. Kimberly says:

Our son wants an airplane party for his third birthday. We used your firetruck collection for his party last year and received so many compliments on it!

  4. These are all so cute, but my personal favorite boy party you did was the golf themed party. As a golfer myself, that was right up my alley!! This year, I’m sure I’ll be planning yet another sports themed party for my favorite boy…baseball, hockey, football, are all favorites around here!

    • Kim says:

I love that you love the golf party, Carrie since it was for my own sweet Tommy! We do have a sports theme that isn’t up in the shop yet….email Toni and she can show you and see if it might work!

  5. Mary Gies says:

Love, love that you are expanding your boy collections. My oldest son will be turning 7 this year (not until October but the wheels are already turning – it’s the Type A personality in me) and I am thinking of a video game themed party. My youngest son just turned two last week but I’m already planning on a super hero theme for his 3rd birthday.

    • Jessica says:

      Hi Kim and Mary-
I think it’s great that you are expanding your boy collection. I just threw my 8 year old son a video game party. We rented one of those game trucks that come to your house. It was great fun, but there wasn’t much out there to choose from in respect to paper ware, printables etc. I think I did pretty well by finding things here and there and pulling it together, but a “gamers” theme party pack would be terrific!

      • Kim says:

The game truck is very popular in our area, too! I will definitely keep this idea in mind!

What really helped me tremendously was one of those “stacks” of scrap booking papers. I got super lucky and found one in the clearance corner at JoAnns (It wasn’t with all the other scrapping stuff). The whole stack is a gamer/techie theme. It had pagers of atari looking characters, binary code numbers, pac man, game controllers, texting….all sorts of stuff. It was terrific and at $8, it saved me. I was going to scan the cover and send it to you for a little inspiration, but then remembered I used it for my cupcake wrapper template! You might have to head over to JoAnns and scour the clearance corner 🙂 We can always use a good excuse to go to JoAnns!

  6. Jeannie Edwards says:

Last year I did a vintage baseball party for my son’s 10th birthday. Since baseball is a 24/7/365 thing around our house, this was not the first baseball themed party. But the vintage was by far my favorite.

  7. Melissa C says:

Love the vintage collection! My nephews are BIG sports fans so I am sure there will be another sports themed party.

  8. Janetta Smith says:

We’re having a milk & cookies 1st birthday for our twin boys in about 3 weeks. I’m so excited to have found your site! Boys themes are hard to find. Other themes I’ve thought about doing is a camping theme & Dr Seuss, thing one & thing two. I love all of your vintage themes 🙂

  9. Mary says:

Yay! It’s so nice to see more party theme for the boys! My youngest son will be turning 1 in March so I’m already planning for his 1st party & we will be having a giraffe theme for him.

  10. Sharleen C. says:

Love all the themes for the boys..They are all cute love all the colors as well!

  11. Kritin Miele says:

Really cute ideas – boys themes are so tough to find. For my son’s last birthday, he wanted a shark theme so I had to be really creative. I had a JAWS cake made, ordered shark lollipops (from ETSY), had a shark piñata, played “pin the fin” on the shark and the tablecloth and cups/plates etc were a mix of blue, grey and white. He loved it!

    • Kim says:

I tried to convince Tommy to have a SHARK theme last year, inspired by a Pottery Barn Kids towel…but he decided on golf! LOVE the idea!

  12. Emma Kemp says:

I am so excited to see some more boys parties! We are having a superhero themed party for our little boys 1st birthday next year. It would be great if Tomkat had a printable party collection 🙂

  13. I’d also like to add that if you ever feel like doing a pirate themed party collection, I’d be totally in favor of that! (Not that I’m working on a pirate themed party or anything!) 🙂

  14. Jessica says:

So awesome to hear about Boy ideas.. Boys get the short end of the stick, ever compare the girl side and the boy see of a clothing store? No fair!!!
My Lil one is turning 3.. For his first birthday we did Handy Manny, for his 2nd bday we did Go Diego Go. This yr we will be doing a School Bus theme, with the Tumblebus and all!!! May go to some places where teachers get their classroom decorations. Because I can’t find any school bus birthday supplies or table ware. Or maybe just decorate everything in yellow/black/white. Any ideas?

  15. Taylor says:

we did a train theme for my son’s first birthday, this past december. i am hoping to do a dr. suess themed party for his second birthday, and i only have 11 months to plan it. yikes!

  16. Barb says:

I love these themes! My son is turning 3 years old at the end of February and I am looking for ideas for a construction or heavy equipment party. I want to have some kind of game(s) in the sand box. And I was thinking of adding mini-heavy equipment toys as cake toppers. But after that I’m out of ideas! Any help would be great!

    • Lauren says:

Would love to hear your ideas, my little guy turns 2 this summer and I am planning on a construction theme as well. Thanks!

  17. dgroup says:

Great list of ideas for boys parties

  18. Rob says:

Isn’t Pirates a very popular theme for boys too? In my opinion, the Pirate Theme should be #1 or 2 on the list.
