If you have been following along with our remodel, you know how excited I am to reveal more of our house with you! Today, I am sharing our laundry room/mudroom. Laundry is my nemesis. No matter what, I can’t keep up with it! Do you feel the same?  You get caught up and guess what… there’s more…and then more. It’s never-ending. So what’s a mom to do? Make her laundry room as functional and beautiful as possible, since we spend so much time in there!

I wanted a space that would help organize all of my laundry needs, but also be a landing zone for the kids after school and soccer. We had the amazing opportunity to partner with Diamond Cabinets by Masterbrand to design the laundry room! I worked with an incredible MasterBrand designer to make sure we thought of everything! From laundry organization, to functional storage spaces for backpacks, jackets and shoes, as well as a special space for Bentlie, our chihuahua… this room has it all! I am so happy with how everything came together and the layout makes it so easy to sort, fold and hang the laundry. Hooray! Let’s take a look at this room when we bought the house…

Big change, right?

Before I get into all of the details, I want to show you a few of the laundry room/mudrooms that inspired my own. I always gather inspiration on pinterest before I start a project and these are my favorite three of the many laundry rooms and mudrooms I have saved.

Gorgeous, right?

So let’s talk about all of the details of my laundry room and why I love it so much!

For the cabinetry, I debated back and forth about going with a different color instead of white. I knew I wanted shaker style doors to match the rest of the house, but I considered light gray and even black. However, whenever I have dreamed about having a mudroom area (and trust me, I’ve dreamed of this for a long time), I have always imagined it bright white. This room doesn’t have a window unfortunately, so I worried about dark cabinets making the room feel small. So, when in doubt… go white! I am so glad I did. The door style I chose Diamond’s Montgomery door style in White

My MasterBrand cabinet designer figured out all of the various cabinet sizes and accents needed to make this laundry room amazing. With pull outs, space for a hanging rod, shelves for laundry baskets, shoe drawers and an open cabinet for our dog’s bed, this space is completely functional for our needs. Diamond Cabinets makes a base cabinet made for farmhouse sinks so it worked out perfectly with the Blanco Ikon sink I chose. I love the shelf she added above the sink! It’s perfect for adding a little decorative touch, yet still fits nicely above the Blanco Sonoma faucet.

I ordered the same modern black cabinet pulls for the laundry room that I used in the kitchen! Again, ordering them in various lengths depending upon the door/drawer size.

One of the first things I do when we move into a new house is hang up key hooks! I cannot stand not being able to find my keys so I make it a habit to walk in from the garage and hang them up right away. I found this cute hook rack at Ikea.

Let’s talk about this mudroom!

I have never had one in any of our (17) homes before and I was so excited that this house allowed space for one! Yippee! I wanted four sections since we are a family of four, and requested that the bottom space be two deep drawers to hold shoes. I opted for closed cabinets up top along with gorgeous crown moulding to finish it off. What do you think?!

How cute are these hooks I found at Target? I meant to put our names in them before shooting this room, oops! I am going to do it though because how cute will that be?! (I’ll post on instagram so you can see)

I bought this “laundry” chalkboard sign at a local antique market, but you can find darling ones on Etsy too.

We worked the laundry room design around one of my favorite things about this house… the laundry chute! YES! I had one of these growing up in upstate New York, and I always wondered why builders didn’t add them to homes here in Arizona. Talk about convenient! No more lugging overflowing baskets of laundry down the stairs, just simply send all the dirty stuff down the chute! Yes please. Our laundry chute is located in the kids bathroom, which is just simply amazing (and would be even more amazing if they would use it instead of just me). I found a cute wood box at HomeGoods that sits on the counter to catch the dirty laundry (perfectly folded towels in the image are just for show) and then I sort that into the baskets below!

Look at the dog bed! I saw this idea on pinterest and thought it was absolutely genius. Bentlie (aka Bdog) always hangs in our laundry room, and we are typically tripping over her bed constantly. This open cabinet prevents that! Amazing. I keep her essentials in the drawer above her bed, as well as in the skinny cabinet above the dryer.

Hello Bentlie!

The laundry room design allowed a little wall space so I hung this “make today amazing” magnet board that I found at HomeGoods there. It’s perfect for invitations, notes and important reminders!

Oh, let’s not forget about this gorgeous flooring! I found this amazing tile here. It is the same brand as the other black and white tile we used in the kitchen and bathrooms, but a different and larger pattern. I absolutely love how it turned out!

If you like my laundry room, here are some laundry room essentials that you can use to spruce up your own laundry room!
