Freshen Up Your Front Door Mat

Your front door area serves as your home’s first impression to guests, and although your door mat serves a practical purpose of wiping muddy feet, that doesn’t mean it can’t be as stylish as the inside of your home! We have been LOVING the layered doormat trend happening everywhere we look these days! Sure, one mat will do the trick, but adding an extra layer of pattern and texture will give your front door a special touch!

Start with a plain or printed cotton woven rug for the base layer then layer a slightly smaller coir or natural weave rug on top. The trick is picking patterns and colors that complement each other but are still different enough. For example, a natural colored coir mat looks stunning layered over a black and white buffalo check rug.  For a warm welcome to visitors, give this quick design project a try to freshen up your front door!

Here are a few of our favorite layered looks…

    Kim,
Love these different ideas. Never thought about changing out the mats.
