We had such an amazing week in Salt Lake City last month! I haven’t had time to sit down and recap the entire week yet, but I wanted to share one of the highlights of the trip. As part of our partnership with Cricut, we were asked to style a candy table and teach a make-and-take at the “In The Clouds” Lounge at ALT Design Summit. It was heavenly! The entire room was draped in white and they even had a low fog machine running. Everyone loved the lounge and all day it was full of attendees checking out the new Cricut Explore, catching up with friends and grabbing some sweets! I had a plan for the candy table before I arrived, but wasn’t totally sure of the setup until the day of. Here is my little sketch and inspiration I put together…
We created several elements using the Cricut Explore including the table backdrop…
Can you imagine hand-cutting all of those pieces? It was so easy using the Explore! I had my darling friend, Kori create a custom cut file for me that I uploaded to the new Cricut Design Space software. With the press of a button, we were able to quickly cut each section one after the other. Each section (3 scallops) took about one minute to load, cut and peel. Amazing! We also used the machine to cut out the large DREAM letters. The ability to cut letters (from any font on your computer) is probably the thing I am most excited about this amazing machine. Oh the possibilities for parties!
We also created the adorable silver bows above using a simple template in Design Space. Hello adorable! We used the bows to embellish candy boxes and bags for the table and we loved them so much, we decided to do them for our make-and-take too! Attendees joined us in the lounge and were able to choose paper and make their own cute bow. We offered up hair clips, headbands, pins, notecards and more to finish with a bow.
Don’t worry! As we get into March and the Cricut Explore becomes available, I will be sharing my templates, ideas and tons of tips and tricks for getting the most out of your machine! Get excited…it’s going to be so much fun. I promise!
A big thank you to our friends at Cricut for asking us to get creative at ALT! It was so amazing seeing so many photos of the table and elements on instagram during the conference! I also owe a big thank you to Ariana , Jen and Rachel for staying up until the wee hours of the morning for set up and making me laugh the whole time. I’ll never forget that night! Just thinking about it makes me giggle!

Just HEAVENLY Kim!! So ethereal and lovely! I see a Cricut machine in my future so I can join in the fun 🙂
Those bows!! Love what you create.
Ironically, I was in Phoenix the same time you were in my neck of the woods at ALT. Wish I’d seen you in the airport! I’d take meeting you over a movie star anyday!
Simply pretty! Never thought an all white details looks so pretty.
I just absolutely love your stuff! You are so talented and everything is just so stinkin’ cute.
Love this! I’m dreaming of owning a cricut explorer now!!
I’d love an Explore, but I don’t want to give up my Expression and my original 6 inch machine !
What is the name for the template of the bow? I want this exact one for the Kate Spade party I’m throwing
