This has to be the reveal post that I have most looked forward to sharing with you… the master bathroom! It’s a complete dream especially given what it looked like when we bought the house. You may have seen some peeks back then on my instagram story, like this…

Holy sh&#, look at that tile! You know you want more…

What would you even call this color? Dark mauve, cranberry? I love me some hexagons, but not when they are pink and in sink form. Mixed metals? Sure it’s a trend, but these chrome/brass combo faucets were never a good idea. Add in black walls and an abundance of glass block and you’ve got a sexy early 90’s beauty. With that said, you know this bathroom was the bomb in it’s day. It’s just that it’s day was 25 years ago. (Oh my gosh, I hope the previous owner never reads this)! You might not believe me that this is the same space. Seriously, I don’t think before and after photos get any better than this!

Right? This bathroom went from dark and dated to bright and modern.

Where do I begin?

After spotting this gorgeous bathroom designed by Byrd Design, I was so inspired. I adored the patterned floor and freestanding tub so when on the hunt for my own. I found the gorgeous black, white and gray patterned tile here (also used here in my kitchen), and the large freestanding tub here. We decided to use a lot of subway tile (as always) and placed it all the way to the ceiling in the shower and on the vanity walls. On the other walls of the bathroom, we added board and batten, and painted the upper portion in Dunn Edwards Cloud (light gray).

Add in this darling modern bench from HomeGoods and a candle and bath accessories from World Market, and who’s ready for a relaxing soak? 😉 Don’t worry, there is a window covering there now. (ha!)

I spent several days searching and deciding on vanities. With the patterend tile, I knew I wanted white cabinets with marble tops. I chose these 60″ carrera marble topped vanities and absolutely love them. For contrast, I used my favorite round mirrors in antique bronze (love the pivoting brackets). The chrome faucets and towel rings and hooks are from Home Depot.

I originally bought these black wall sconces for our kitchen and loved them so much I ordered more for the bathroom!
