When I was in London in April, I had the opportunity to enjoy a proper afternoon tea at The Berkeley. It was so beautiful and quite delicious! Tea parties are perfect for bridal showers and baby showers. My baby shower for Kate was afternoon tea hosted at The Phoenician. Such a perfectly girly thing to do, if you ask me! When I was contacted by Steven Smith Teamaker about designing a shower filled with creative ideas for food, desserts, decor and tea (of course!) I jumped at the opportunity!
Inspired by the look and feel of the gorgeous Smith Tea Wedding Collection packaging, we went with a simple, modern, industrial style tea party theme. Smith Wedding Teas are perfect favors for a tea party shower, wedding or as bridesmaid gifts! You can personalize the boxes and tins with the wedding date, bride and groom’s names and location. Guess what? We are giving one lucky reader the chance to win $200 of Smith Tea! Enter at the end of this post!
For our tea party, we kept the color palette neutral and add a feminine touch with gorgeous peony arrangements.
Printable designs always add that special finishing touch to any celebration!
Smith Tea wedding tins are perfect for tea party flower arrangements. Simply add flowers to a small jar with water and place into tin. You can even personalize the labels on these wedding tea tins! (Love this idea!)
No party is complete without dessert! Offer a few different options for the guests to enjoy during the shower.
For a pretty, yet simple bridal shower cake, bake a favorite recipe andĀ coverĀ with white frosting.Ā Top with a fresh flower for an added embellishment.
Individually served items like cupcakes and pudding parfaits are perfect shower treats.
Create a display with various teas, teapots and teacups. Guests can try the different flavors and choose a favorite (mine is White Petal!)
Don’t forget to serve savory bites along with all of those sweets! Ā Crostini, salad and a cheese board are all fabulous choices for an afternoon tea (recipes coming soon!)
Use theĀ printable “bride” banner design to embellish the bride-to-be’s chair at the shower.
A personalized box of Smith Tea is the perfect party favor to send home with guests! Display several flavors so the guests can take home their favorite tea that they enjoyed at the shower!
Here are the printable designs to get you started on planning your own tea party bridal shower.
(Files can be customized for a small fee, email us for details)
The TomKat team has decided that we are going to startĀ treating ourselves to afternoon tea much more often!

I would definitely pick Honeymoon. My husband and I are going back to Hawaii this November for Thanksgiving/ 2nd Anniversary. During our honeymoon I was still stressed about our wedding and didn’t have as much fun as I wanted to have with the man I love. This time I “VOW” to do it right. Couples Massages, golf, hiking, drinks by the pool and maybe a little spot of tea in the evenings.

Thank you for the lovely post and the inspiration. A couple of months ago a friend of mine asked me to her maid of honour next summer and I am still collecting ideas for the bridal shower. My friend is very shy and gets anxious when she is the center of attention so the traditional bridal shower is not a good option for her.
