My story starts back in 2000, when after graduating from ASU with a Business Marketing degree, I left my ad agency position to embark on a new endeavor in real estate. For 8+ years, I worked full-time in real estate, running a brokerage and working with buyers and sellers. When the real estate market crashed in 2008, I made the decision to leave my career in real estate to spend more time at home with my children, Tommy and Kate. After starting to read a few blogs (blogging was a new thing then!), I decided on a whim to start my own. I called it "The TomKat Studio" and whipped up a quick logo. I started sharing everything creative I was doing and the blog quickly gained a loyal following. As I was sharing my own kids' parties and holiday celebrations, the demand for sharing my ideas and creating party products soared. I opened an Etsy shop, selling handmade party decor and then transitioning to digital designs.
Soon after, I saw the need for a one stop shop to purchase both party printables and the supplies needed to put together the perfect party. We started shipping products from my garage and moved into warehouse space within in a couple of months. I eventually opened a retail location inside FOUND, a gorgeous home decor shop, for my curated selection of party supplies and gifts. In the meantime, my styling and photo shoots to showcase my products caught the attention of major brands like HGTV and Pottery Barn Kids, elevating The TomKat Studio to a new level. Since then, I've partnered with brands like Coca-Cola, MasterBrand, Minted, and Shutterfly while continuing to freelance for HGTV and DIY Network. My work has been featured by Martha Stewart and Joss & Main, and in publications such as Parenting Magazine, Celebrate Magazine, Where Women Create and InStyle Magazine.
I'm Kim Stoegbauer, founder of The TomKat Studio and TomKat Real Estate. I am a designer, stylist and REALTOR®. I am a happy wife and mom to two beautiful children, Tommy and Kate, who inspired the name of my business back in 2008. TomKat has evolved and grown more than I could have ever imagined and I am so excited to announce that next chapter is now unfolding...
In 2017, an unexpected turn of events in a business partnership left me with a big decision to make. With my kids getting older and my own style maturing, I started to feel a pull in a new direction. I believe that everything happens for a reason and it was time for a change. I made the tough decision to move on from my party shop and move forward focusing on styled shoots for brands and my other ongoing passion... designing homes.
My husband and I have always had a passion for renovating properties and have lived in 17 homes in the East Valley (Chandler, Gilbert and Ahwatukee) since we got married in 2001. Real estate and remodeling is a true passion that we have always shared. After spending most of my time over the past year and half renovating our own homes, we decided it was time for me to focus on investing in more properties to make beautiful and to start helping others with their own home renovations and real estate needs.
