I am so excited to share these photos that I styled for another project for HGTV! As you may have read, I’ve worked on several other projects for HGTV including Boy Birthday Party Ideas, Creating Dessert Tables and Valentine’s Day Ideas! I also had the pleasure of designing and styling four new themes for girls! The beautiful photos were taken by Laura Winslow. I am in the process of creating full printable collections for these themes, but in the meantime, you can view the full article, more photos and a few free printable files HERE on HGTV.com!
First up, I wanted to create a new cupcake theme that would incorporate a fun cake stand illustration {since I’m obsessed with cake stands}! Last year, Brenda from Ooh La Lollipop sent my daughter, Kate {above} an adorable hostess set including an apron, placemats, necklace and bracelet along with her signature felt cupcakes and cookies. The set is so adorable and I had been wanting to incorporate into a photo shoot. I used the apron fabric as color inspiration for the new designs!
I used Kate’s pink retro kitchen and tea set in the party scene. Always look to what you already have that you can use for your parties! Melissa from Decadent Delights made adorable cupcake cookies, which are always fabulous favors! The Cupcake Bake Shoppe collection will be available in the shop soon!
Pajama Parties are always popular for girls! I’ve been wanting to design a collection for this theme and after finding a fun shower curtain at HomeGoods to use as a backdrop, decided on a purple and aqua color scheme. We set up this secene in my guest room, which already had aqua colored bedding. {now I’m adding purple permanently because I loved it so much!} Our little neighbor, Lexi was our model and she was sooo adorable!
Donut soaps were sent in from Milk & Cookeez to be used as party favors. They smelled amazing! Inspired by a donut cake made by superchick, Genivieve at Celebrate Today, I stacked up powdered donuts on a decorated cake plate and used a purple flower from Banner Boutique as a topper!
This is our new Paris Glam collection! Expanded from our French Kiss Valentine’s Day Collection, I adore this theme. My affection for pink, damask and the Eiffel Tower inspired these designs.
One of Laura’s sweet clients modeled for us and wore an adorable “Springtime in Paris” dress by Charming Necessities! French macarons are a must for a Paris themed party, and these were provided by Eastern Cookie on Etsy! Yummy! Printable Paris Glam designs are in the shop!
I created this Cherry Picnic theme last year for a custom order, but never launched it on the blog {still need to share those party photos!} I am so excited that it is one of the themes for this project! It’s perfect for a spring or summer party or barbeque!
Decadent Delights made the adorable cherry cookies and simple cake that I added a cake topper, flowers and ribbon to! Cherry sours and fresh cherries are yummy treats for this theme. Nancy from A to Zebra Celebrations made the perfect red and white gingham table runner! I adore the pom pom trim! Full Printable Cherry Picnic Collection will be in the shop soon!

They are all my favorite, how can anyone just pick one? Beautiful job Kim, as always. I’m leaning toward the damask as I have that around the house some. But again, all of them look YUMMY!!
I love the icing on the cupcake with the Kate topper. Do you know what tip and technique were used? Your stuff is beautiful, as always. You are truly an inspiration.
Hi Tara!
You can use the Wilton 2D tip to do the ruffled styled cupcakes! My friend, Sharnal taught me. 🙂 You hold at a 90 degree angle and squeeze firm and it piles up!
Absolutely fabulous Ms. Kim! I’m crushing on the Cherry Picnic! Makes me feel like summer!
Love the RED ideas.. I wish there was more business in my area.

Any girl wishes to look amazing on her birthday. Visualize your beloved in a flowing gown standing near to an incredible castle cake. Clearly, that is a very realistic picture you possibly can make happen with a few fantastic party preparation concepts with BirthdayExpress girls birthday party themes.
I love Kate’s headband!! So adorable! Is it from Banner Boutique? Wonderful job, love it all. We are doing a Paris party this year for my daughter’s 5th birthday. And she has already requested next year having a mermaid party. I’m going to use your printables. Your party inspired me!!
