Hello TomKat Studio friends! It’s Jessica from Pen N’ Paperflowers. I’m back to share with you some adorable ideas today as we head into the Fall season. (you might even find an easy, delicious recipe or two at the bottom of the post)!
If you love picnics like I do then you’re going to love this darling idea for creatively packaging up some treats to enjoy the next time you and your family are on a picnic blanket together.
The White Pint Containers from the TKS Shop are absolutely perfect for storing just about any type of individual snacks or desserts to bring with you on your next picnic. Fill the containers with favorite family snacks, close the the lid for safe storing and hand out the individual servings when it’s time to open up the picnic basket.
Since I’m all about presentation, I’m happy to tell you it doesn’t take much time or effort to add some cuteness and personalization to the otherwise plain white pint containers. I used a little bit of scrapbooking paper, some fun trendy washi tape and a few strands of cute baker’s twine to add a splash of color. Your family and friends may present you with the “Best Picnicker Ever Award” for such pretty packaging!
Aside from creating memorable picnics, how about these fabulous ideas for using the pint-sized packaging:
– Packaging for party favors – already planning on using these for my daugther’s birthday coming up in November.
– Holiday Cookie Packaging – I’m so doing this!
– Personalized Wedding Reception “Take Home Boxes” for candy, cookies, popcorn or trail mix buffets.
– Gift Packaging for teachers, bridesmaids, hostesses, and more.
– Small Jar Candle packaging
– Package up festive treats for your annual Halloween “Booing” – works for “Elfing” in December too!
If you are looking for some fun snack recipes for filling your containers (or just to bring to your next barbecue) check out this round-up of 22 different Flavored Popcorn Recipes I put together (including the Peanut Butter Popcorn shown above). You will also want to try the sweet and salty snack mix pictured above – it’s super easy and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
“White Trash”
serves a large crowd
3 cups Cheerios
3 cups Corn Chex
3 cups Rice Chex
1 lbs. M&M’s
1 lbs. peanuts
1 16oz. pkg. white chocolate chips or pkg. white almond bark
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl.
Melt white chocolate in separate bowl in the microwave or in a saucepan on a stovetop.
Pour melted chocolate over the top of dry ingredients.
Mix well by folding the melted chocolate into the dry mix using a rubber spatula, being careful not to crush up cereal.
Pour onto a cookie sheet or silpat to cool.
Store in an airtight container for 3-5 days.
You can find the pint size containers in The TomKat Studio Shop!

I’m so thrilled you love the post Terry and that you are inspired to use the idea for the fun birthday party you are having for your husband! You’ll LOVE the “White Trash” mix – it makes a ton which makes it dangerous for snacking on pre-party! Ha!!
