Let’s face it, we all want to be good during the holidays, but there’s no hope with so many yummy treats around. They come spilling into our homes and to not try each one is ridiculous. That’s why my Chocolate Date Truffles are perfect for the holidays. They take little to no time to prepare (which is great because we are super busy), are naturally sweet from the dates and the chocolate is the right amount of decadent so no one will ever know these bite-sized treats are healthy. For a fun twist, coat each truffle with crushed nuts, coconut flakes or toasted sesame seeds.
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, plus extra for dusting
zest of one orange
crushed nuts, coconut flakes and toasted sesame seeds, optional
Directions
In a food processor, blend the dates with the cocoa powder and orange zest until a paste is formed.
Using slightly damp hands, form 3/4-inch balls from the date mixture. Roll the balls in cocoa powder, crushed nuts, coconut flakes or toasted sesame seeds to finish the truffle.
Yum! I love these Joanna! They remind me of some decadent “Raw Brownies” I made a few months back when I was doing the Whole30 Challenge. I am so amazed by how sweet the dates are. (They became a much needed treat for me during the challenge). These are much cutter in my opinion and they look festive enough for the holidays!! Can’t wait to try them!! Thanks for sharing!!

Looking great, perfect for a little christmas gift I’d say… is there anything I can substitute, I don’t like dates or any dried fruit… Thanks x
