Yes, I just called my own project “amazing”…..but it really is! If there was ever a perfect example of what the Cricut Explore can do, that I could never ever do with a pair of scissors, this is it.
If you haven’t heard about the new Cricut Explore machine, read more here.
Inspired by papel picado, the Mexican folk art, I created this fun banner and coordinating cupcake flags perfect for Cinco de Mayo! Hundreds of tiny, intricate perfect cuts made by the Explore to create these beautiful decorations fit for any fiesta!
This project is definitely classified as “easy”, though it does take some serious time to cut all of those teeny details! (27 minutes per banner panel to be exact!) But, don’t let that scare you. Just load your paper, hit the Cricut button and go on doing all of the other million things you need to do (like making margaritas!) until it’s time to load the next sheet.
Once cut, just string the banner panels on twine to create the banner and use hot glue to attach the cupcake flags to sticks!
Settings: Fabric, Light Grip Mat
Paper: Bazzil Basics Bling in Luscious, Spoiled Brat, Bling, Bank Roll, Glitz, Flirty
Supplies: jute twine, 6″ lollipop sticks

This is BEYOND fabulous Kim…..I love it, and I love the fact you can just set the machine up and walk away. A multi-taker’s dream come true! 🙂
P.S. Love your new cake pedestal….saw it on your Pinterest page 🙂
Hi love this site. Where can i get some graduation printables please?thanks so much.
How could I locate the file. It doesn’t take me to the file. Sorry I’m new to this.
You should be able to find it here: https://design.cricut.com/#/landing/project-detail/575663e5ee508efa43329a5e
If I only need the banner, can I delete the small flag pieces off the design and cut 2 banner panels per page? Thanks!
Yes! Simply delete them from the Design Space canvas!
I know that you posted this a while ago, but when I go to cricut, it says that this project is no longer available. Just checking to see if it’s available somehow! I’m throwing a party for Cinco de Mayo and this would be perfect!
