I am so excited to share this party with you today! My lovely friend, Kate Landersstyles the most amazing parties and of course, her son, Noah’s 2nd birthday turned out absolutely beautiful. Kate’s attention to detail and the ability to find the most talented vendors makes her events shine.
From Kate…
When my little animal enthusiast Noah turned two, I just knew that a Noah’s Ark themed birthday party was perfect for him. Looking back, this theme would have also been perfect for our baby shower, or his first birthday! I absolutely love it.
The gorgeous paperie collection by Loralee Lewis was based off of vintage Noah’s Ark storybook images, which I absolutely adore! I used those illustrations as inspiration for many of the dessert designs. From the cookies and cupcake toppers to that magnificent cake topper (my jaw dropped to the floor when I first saw it), all the amazing artists blew me away with the most precious animal sweets I could have imagined. Their talent is incredible, and every sweet was not only beautiful but yummy!
With so many colors going on with the animal illustrations, I kept everything else in a clean white color palette, and it worked beautifully. From table linens and paper plates to the white spray-painted animals atop the bubble bottles (those darling French square clear plastic bottlesfrom The TomKat Studio all dressed up!), it all provided a wonderful backdrop so the animals would stand out. One of my favorite details of the party were the ark shaped favor boxes. Filled with little felt finger puppets, they were an adorable treat that likely didn’t get lost under the seat of the car–not right away, at least! I am in disbelief that Noah’s ark box is still in tact–he loves opening and closing it, sticking all sorts of treasures inside.
Noah loves building blocks, and we surprised him with a set of large cardboard faux-bois boxes to “build an ark”–it was the PERFECT activity for toddlers and even younger grade-schoolers. He still uses them almost daily to construct bridges, towers and walls.
A second birthday is a marvelous milestone to celebrate. I must admit after his first birthday, I didn’t think there could be that much development in the second year. So much happened from his birth to turning one, it seemed hard to beat! But much to my surprise, the second year was equally amazing, with so many new developments from speech, throwing a ball, kicking, jumping, discovering new foods, making friends and navigating the park with less assistance…I loved it, and cannot wait to see what rest of year three will bring. Celebrating our sweet Noah is an incredible privilege, and delight! Thanks to all who assisted in making his 2nd birthday party such a success.
Kate, I love that you paired the color from the animals with a white, neutral color. So, so cute! I love the activity of helping Noah build the ark! Genius girl!
I would love to make the rainbow cake it is so fascinating and magical to look, thanks for the giveaway opportunity! You are an amazing cake artist, I am inspired.
Those favor boxes! How creative!…but I must see the finger puppets inside. Loved how all the details were thoroughly thought out and so brilliantly delivered. I mean, those cupcake toppers. Too much! xx
Hi Heidi, thank you! I didn’t get a shot of the finger puppets at the party, but we still have them! I got them at Stella Bella Toy Shoppe. They have a cat, pig, duck, frog…lots of cuteness!
