As we head into winter, we can’t help but think about all of the fabulous things that the change of season brings! Cold weather, gorgeous snow (depending where you live!), cute boots and cozy scarves… we could go on and on. The thought of hosting a warm + cozy night in with friends should definitely be on your to-do list this winter. Today, we are sharing tips on how to host a fun and fabulous soup party complete with an array of soup flavors, toppings, appetizers + dessert (of course). Soup warms you up from the inside with every delicious bite, so we’ve partnered with Garden Fresh Gourmet to bring you this fresh party theme idea. Garden Fresh Gourmet has just launched a brand new line of refrigerated soups in classic, loved flavors, each with a culinary twist. The soups are crafted with garden vegetables and herbs paired with easily recognizable ingredients like white meat chicken, beans, and grains. And if that doesn’t sound delicious enough already, the soups are made with no artificial flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. Ingredients you can feel really good about serving your friends and family!
Tip #1: Create a soup station! We used this darling bar cart already in the dining room, then added some cozy winter style to it with pine cones and rolled up blankets! We used a plaid scarf as our tablecloth, which adds texture and warmth to our setup. Our free printable art print, “Soup is made for sharing” is a great focal point for your soup bar. Download the art print here
Tip #2: Send out invitations! Isn’t it so fun to get an actual invitation in the mail? Our buffalo check “let’s get together” free printable invitation design is darling, and easy to print and send! Download the invitation here
Tip #3: Pick up a variety of Garden Fresh Gourmet Soups for your guests to enjoy at the party. The four delicious varieties available are: Chicken Noodle with Kale, Chicken Tortilla with Roasted Chiles, Broccoli Cheddar with Parmesan, and Tomato with Parmesan. We tried them all and they are so good!
Tip #4: Use small mugs so guests can try various flavors of soup! The smaller serving size will allow guest to keep going back for more and decide on a favorite!
Tip #5: Download our free printable soup labels to display next to your serving bowls! Guests will know which delicious flavor they’re serving up!
Tip #6: Top off your soup! Offer variety of flavorful toppings available to add a little extra garnish to the soup! We went with shaved Parmesan, green onion, oyster crackers, sour cream and shredded cheddar! Yum!
Tip #7: What goes better with soup than bread and crackers? Make sure to set out a bowl of fresh bread and variety of crackers on the table so guests can help themselves.
Don’t you just want to sit and enjoy this tasty dinner? Make sure to download our darling free printable menu to place on each setting!
Tip #8: Serve an appetizer! Bruschetta is a great choice to serve before or with the soup. Serve it on a wood board and down the middle of the table and it becomes the perfect centerpiece: beautiful and delicious! Click here for our bruschetta recipes
Tip #9: End your meal with a delicious dessert! We chose one that made us feel just as warm and cozy as the rest of the meal, Cinnamon Pecan Bread Pudding with Cream Cheese Icing. (Wow!)
Cinnamon Pecan Bread Pudding with Cream Cheese Icing
Makes 6 large ramekins
Bread Pudding Ingredients: 2 lbs. cinnamon bread diced into 1-inch cubes, 4 eggs, 1 cup milk, 1/2 tsp. ground cloves, 1 1/2 cups pecans chopped and separated, 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
Icing Ingredients: 4 oz, cream cheese, 1/2 cup milk, 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, pinch of salt
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray 6 large ramekins with nonstick spray; set aside.
To make the bread pudding, whisk together the eggs, milk and cloves in a bowl. Fold in the cinnamon bread and 1 cup of pecans, making sure to coat evenly. Divide the mixture between the ramekins and top with a even sprinkling of the remaining pecans and brown sugar. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
Meanwhile, warm the cream cheese and milk over low heat in a pot on the stove. When smooth, stir in the remaining icing ingredients. Pour the icing over the warm bread pudding and serve.
