We recently created a feature for HGTV to show you some fun, fabulous ideas you could do with that awkward corner! In the feature, we are sharing 3 different ways you could utilize the space, including a mini mudroom, corner office, and a book nook. Let’s start with the book nook…

With all the hubbub of daily life, how nice would it be to create a little corner to relax in? Turn off the electronics and commit to sitting here for a bit each day. Start with a cute chair like this pink one, add an ottoman and side table for your coffee.

Add a statement lamp, like this brass floor lamp and a patterned rug to add texture. A framed art print (download the one shown here for FREE!) is the perfect finishing touch above the chair. You’ll also need a bookshelf to house your favorite books and magazine. Fill additional space on the shelves with other objects you love like plants, framed art/photos and candles.

Next up… Turn that corner into a small office area for you or the kids. Start with a small desk, a comfortable desk chair, stylish wall shelves and a patterned rug.

How about a mini mudroom landing space in your awkward corner? I love this idea so much because we all need a landing zone where we enter and exit the house. Start with a textured rug, simple bench and functional hooks for hanging jackets, bags, etc.

Add a stylish pillow to the bench, along with a plant like my new friend, Sally (a fiddle leaf fig) and a framed art print to greet you when come in.
