The TomKat Studio Launches New Logo & Blog!

We are so thrilled to announce the launch of our new logo and blog! I started this blog in December 2008 on a whim and cannot believe what it has turned in to! I couldn’t be happier with how The TomKat Studio has progressed and the amazing opportunities that I have been given. A logo and blog makeover have been long overdue and I am thrilled to share our new “look” with you all! Creating a logo that illustrates what The TomKat Studio is, was very difficult. I tried to do it myself and also worked with several designers and it never felt just right. In December, I came across With Style & Grace’sgift guide via Twitter and spotted some adorable note cards Lisa included in her collage. I clicked through to discover an amazing illustrator, Hanna Nation of Gadabout. I instantly knew that I wanted a “girl” that exemplified a hostess and crossed my fingers that Hanna would take on the project! Lucky for me, she was ready and willing to create an new image for TomKat! The week prior, I had hired Jessica of JP Creative {who worked with us on the Holiday Gift Guide} to do some logo concepts for me and she had come up with some fabulous font combinations for the new logo. Jess put it together with Hanna’s illustration and the new logo was ready!  
I have been wanting to make the switch to WordPress for quite some time. In July, I hired a web designer to create my WP site. Again, {call me picky} it just didn’t get to the point where it was ready to launch. I had invested time and money into the site but the designer wanted to charge so much to make any additional changes. I gave up. Call it serendipity, but earlier this month I received an email from Lindsey of Mom & Wife and Pretty Darn Cute Design. Lindsey sent me a link to a crafty tutorial she created and I popped over to her blog to check it out. Not only was the tutorial great {you’ll be seeing soon along with more guest posts from her!} but her blog layout was fabulous. Then I realized that she is a designer and emailed her back asking if she could help me! It was perfect because she has been reading my blog for a long time and knows my style. She jumped on it and has been so spectacular to work with. She’s a perfectionist, just like me so she understands my every little change and request!
