No, it’s not a baby.
Though I am giving birth to something new. Something I have been dreaming of for a very long time. I am giddy about the possibilities this new venture could bring.

I had an incredible opportunity come up just a few short weeks ago that took me all of two seconds to jump on…
The TomKat Studio is opening a retail store!
Such a dream come true!
As my business has grown, I have explored several opportunities to get “space” in addition to our current shipping offices. However, most of the opportunities have been too high risk and my husband and I have made the decision to continue operations as usual. However, when Kristin from Found + ReStyle Source approached me this summer about leasing a section of her new retail space to open my own storefront, I knew it was the opportunity I’ve been waiting for. (Maybe having the goosebumps the entire time I was meeting with her was a clue?) The new shop will be located in a high-end retail center, Casa Paloma in Chandler. It couldn’t be a better location for shopping. We’ll be nestled right in with shops like Sur La Table, Banana Republic, Gap + more. Whaaaattt?!
Can you tell that I am beyond excited?
It’s been a whirlwind of a few weeks, getting things finalized, hiring contractors, finding inspiration for the decorating space, shopping for fixtures….but it is all coming right along! Here’s a peek…
This is all very new to me, but I have always dreamed of styling and running a shop filled with all of my favorite things. There is SO much to do to get ready to open soon! (Not to mention, I’ll be traveling all next week for AH Inspired + Better Homes & Gardens) But, I’m trying to stay calm and take things one day at a time.
I am expanding our product lines and the range of items that we offer (online too, don’t worry!) and I can’t wait to find new, amazing things to showcase in the shop. The focus will be on parties (of course), stationery, crafting items and baby/child gifts/clothing. I will feature both larger brands, as well as independent designers. Down the road as we get settled, I plan on offering consulting, craft + party classes, party planning services and any other crazy ideas that come to mind!
I feel like this is such a huge step for The TomKat Studio and this space will allow us to grow our business and our team. It will be a big change for me to actually get dressed and go to work each day, rather than wearing my pajamas until 3:00 pm, but I’m ready for it!
I’m ready for this new chapter and all the possibilities that come along with it.
