Our House Remodel: Exterior Reveal

Share To:

It’s been 6 months since we closed on our new house! It’s been a half of a year filled with insane demo days, many construction delays, hours upon hours of choosing every detail and pure joy seeing the results of our labor of love. I cannot express how excited I am to start revealing the results of this project with you! To start, I am sharing the front exterior of the house (remember… it was pink?!).

Here are the images I gathered as inspiration for the exterior update. I knew from the beginning that I wanted white with dark trim. My husband was skeptical, but trusted my judgement. You know I love black and white everything, so the house was no different.

We had our painter do some sample areas on the back of the house and decided that true black was just too much for this style home. We decided on a rich, dark brown instead for the trim, front door and garage doors.

What We Did:
Exterior Body Paint: Dunn Edwards Droplets DEW381
Exterior Body Trim: Dunn Edwards Weathered Brown DEC756
Front Door: Black Door Handle/Deadbolt, Door Knocker
Lighting: Black Post Lights, Coach Light, Pathway Lights, Palm Tree Spot Lights
Hardware: Mailbox, House Numbers
Landscape: Repaired Fountains, Added Bougainvillea

I’m so happy with how it turned out and I hope you like it to!

Love it!! I think all of the ugly brown and pink Arizona stucco houses should be painted white (or cream). In my neighborhood everything is going brown on brown. (poop on dirt, basically) It makes me depressed!

This looks amazing! Can’t wait to see what you do inside!

I was surprised but pleased to see that my home was one of your inspiration houses! We love our home , we were fortunate enough to build it but wanted it to look as though it had always been there.

    • Kim says:

Hi Gail! Oh my gosh, really?! Amazing! Is it the bottom right? It’s SO beautiful! I would love to give photography credit, if you would like. I couldn’t locate where I found that image!

      • Gail says:

No, that is an amazing house though! Mine is the top left and I am not sure who took the picture. My builder had some pictures taken for their website but it could just be one I took – don’t worry about that. I was was just surprised and pleased to see it! Your home looks lovely and I hope you enjoy it for many years!

  19. Wow! The difference is amazing!! It looks incredible! Can’t wait to see more 🙂

  20. Amber powell says:

Wow the house looks AMAZING! Our new house is the opposite of the yours (dark brown base and white trim)… when we pulled up I told my hubby… agh I wish they had flipped these two colors! I want to repaint it even more now… even though it was just painted three months ago! I think I’ll wait on that until the time comes….. you know how the HOAs are here in AZ!
Our new home is still a blank slate on the inside too and you give me so much inspiration! I cannot wait to see more!

    • Kim says:

Thank you, Amber! When it comes time, if you need a good painter here in Phoenix, let me know. I can’t wait to share the interior! I hope it inspires you, as well! xoxo
